DID YOU MEET AN ANGEL TODAY?

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

Today, I want to share with you some thoughts about the final chapter of the book of Hebrews, chapter 13. This chapter contains some important reminders and instructions that are relevant for us as followers of Christ today.

First, the writer of Hebrews reminds us to continue showing hospitality to strangers, for by doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it. Hospitality is an important virtue in the Christian faith, and it is something that we should always strive to practice. We never know when we might be entertaining an angel, or when our kindness and generosity might make a difference in someone's life.

Secondly, the writer reminds us to remember those who are in prison and those who are mistreated, as if we ourselves were suffering.

As Christians, we are called to have empathy and compassion for those who are going through difficult times, and to do what we can to help and support them. We should never turn a blind eye to injustice and suffering, but rather, we should do our part to alleviate it.

Thirdly, the writer reminds us to keep our lives free from the love of money, and to be content with what we have. In a world that often places a high value on wealth and material possessions, this reminder is particularly important.

As Christians, we are called to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and to trust that He will provide for our needs.

Finally, the writer reminds us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This is a powerful reminder that the message of the Gospel remains unchanged, and that our faith in Christ is the foundation of our lives. In a world that is constantly changing and evolving, we can take comfort in the fact that our God is unchanging and faithful.

So, my friends, as we go about our lives this week, let us remember these important reminders from the book of Hebrews. Let us show hospitality to strangers, remember those who are suffering, keep our lives free from the love of money, and trust in the unchanging nature of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless us all as we seek to live out our faith in Him. Amen.
